YOU’RE HIS REPRESENTATIVE!

YOU’RE HIS REPRESENTATIVE!

by | 1, Nov 2021 | From Our Pastors

Wow, where has 2021 gone? With two months to go until the New Year. The Body of Christ is in trying times; however, Jesus is still on the throne, and we are seated with Him in Heavenly places.

Jesus knew what His people would go through, yet still left us (His Disciples) an instruction, that we were to occupy until He returns. We see this spoken of in Luke 19 referred to as the parable of the Minas and in Matthews gospel it was referred to as the parable of the talents.

Luke 19:11-13 NKJV – Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable,
because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So, he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’”

In the King James Version it is translated “Occupy till I come.”

Jesus was going to Heaven, to be exalted and crowned with Glory, however He said His people should continue to occupy and do business until He comes back. In other words, despite the obstacles, challenges, uncertainties, recessions, wars, plagues, earthquakes, corruption, and worldly systems that fail, we are to continue advancing, being fruitful, multiplying having dominion and putting our hands to what God leads us to.

To occupy simply means to busy oneself with, to trade, to execute and to accomplish things. This was of course a two-fold approach.

[1] All believers are called to discover their giftings, talents and God given purpose and then function in this. This could be, a financial planner, builder, accountant, CEO, educator, or a mother. Whatever it is, do it as unto the Lord and be fruitful in it. Believers are not meant to be idle and just “go with the flow”.

[2] All believers are called to represent and partner with God in “Advancing the Kingdom”. This comes in the form but not limited to our giving of finances and resources, physical service to the Body of Christ especially your local Church as well as being a witness to the world and bringing in the harvest of souls within your influence and sphere.

“Christianity or discipleship is not about CHURCH membership alone, It’s about KINGDOM Citizenship.”

With Kingdom citizenship comes Kingdom-Culture, Kingdom-Principles, and Kingdom-Functions. With Kingdom-Function comes responsibility, accountability, and purpose.

2 Corinthians 5:20 NKJV Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

An ambassador simply means to be a representative or a member of a council. As believers, you and I are called to be God’s ambassadors or representatives here on earth.

Remember, we are “In this world but not of it…”

Being a Christian is one thing! However, knowing you are an ambassador of the Kingdom of God, a son and daughter of the most high, a royal priesthood and a holy nation. This should catapult us into a higher way of thinking, responding as well as conduct.

Our main objective as believers should be to represent the Kingdom of God well in all we do, as well as live in the fullness of who we’ve been called to be and never settling for less.

We should be a people doing Kingdom business wherever we go and advancing the Kingdom of God, winning souls and subduing principalities and powers of darkness in our areas of influence, families, and cities.

2 Corinthians 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

A few versus before we are told that we are ambassadors, we see that the scripture tells us that we are all ministers of reconciliation. Stop, pause, and think about that. If we truly understand this, it will take away the pressures of feeling “I must be a five-fold minister” to minister to people as well as on the other side of the “so called coin”, that “It’s not my responsibility, it’s the Pastors role”.

Well scripture is clear, we are all called to be ambassadors (representatives of Heaven) as well as all are called to minister reconciliation to all mankind. In other words, share the Gospel.

My prayer is that this newsletter will encourage you to be mindful and ask yourself a few questions and do a self-evaluation between you and God.

[1] Am I representing the Kingdom of God well? What do people see and hear when they are around me?

[2] Am I truly occupying in my place of assignment? Am I truly identifying, developing, and stirring my gifts, talents, and abilities as unto the Lord? It’s never too late!

[3] Am I being mindful and intentional to be available and used by God to minister reconciliation to those God places around me in my workplace, social network, neighbours as well as family?

This is not to make you feel you need to compare yourself with those around you, even your spouse, but it’s some questions for you to ask yourself, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you, grow you, stretch you and encourage you in your response(s).

I pray that you are blessed and encouraged every week to be the winner God has designed you to be. You are loved, valued, and accepted in Him.
