A New Season, A New Day

A New Season, A New Day

by | 1, Aug 2022 | From Our Pastors

“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past and present are certain to miss the future. The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world” – Unknown

Jesus started with twelve faithful followers and the rest is history. Most people don’t like change; however, every time God was about to do a “new thing” it was uncomfortable to man and required faith to trust what God was doing. He hasn’t changed in that He continues to unfold His plans in our nation and church which is uncomfortable yet requires faith and obedience to be led by the Spirit and not emotions or flesh.

“And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” Acts 1:7 NKJV

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;” Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 NKJV

We would be ignorant to think anything is not subject to change, this is true for all areas of our lives, our careers, bodies, hair colour, fitness levels, where we live, the home we live in, the people in our lives and so on. Everything has seasons and nothing is forever except the things of the spirit and eternity. Life changes and it is important for us as believers to co-operate with God’s pre appointed changes and seasons in order to be positioned for His best in our lives. God has pre-ordained everything for His Church, and all the things that pertain to your life. It’s not coincidental that you are where you are in this time and season.

It’s about learning to co-operate and flow with the Holy Spirit. We are in a time to build for two main reasons:

1. Leaving a Godly legacy for the next generation.
2. Preparation for the return of the Lord.

What is God telling you to build and do in this time and season? Our Church has a mandate to build a Godly legacy of faith for the next generation.

What is your part in that?

“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone. Change is inevitable but growth is optional.” – John Maxwell

In the natural and often in our own thoughts, things don’t always make sense, however that is why God says, “My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts are higher than your thoughts.”

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 NKJV

God desires us to celebrate the old, cherish and celebrate yesterday’s achievements and memories. However, He expects us to align and embrace the new, to be focused on the future as well as co-operate with Him in the present as He directs us.

The above scripture tells us not to remember the former things. What he means is don’t remember the past; struggles, pains nor ways of doing things.

If we camp in those past things, we won’t see the breakthroughs or see what God has for us in the future.

They will also hinder us from seeing God in the present!
God says He is doing a new thing. A “new” thing talks about doing something FRESH!

Read the Message translation:

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG

The flesh hates change yet the Spirit is always transforming and progressing!

The word tells us to be alert and be present. In other words, to see through Spiritual eyes as well as to have spiritual discernment or we may miss a move of God.

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” – Philippians 1:6 NKJV

Church family, I am convinced of this thing as the Apostle Paul highlighted. That what God begins, He completes if however, we align ourselves to Him by faith, willingness as well as obedience.

God began a good work on the Gold Coast through our Church, He is going to complete that good work because God doesn’t see the way man sees! He sees from a Heavenly and eternal perspective.

So too should we!

I am ready to see the manifestations God has promised, an abundance of resources that is about to shift from unbelievers to the saints, a great harvest of souls and an outpouring of His Spirit upon – The Great South Land of Holy Spirit.
