Special Guest Speaker | Col Stringer

Col Stringer will be our very special guest on Sunday 25th August 2019 at our 9.30am service.

Col Stringer is the son of a professional hunter, born in the rugged desert country of Australia. During his life in the Northern Territory Col was awarded the Mariner Fishing Writer of the Year award (Australia) (1979), won a Swedish Gold Medal for a world record shark capture, and was featured in two outdoor documentary films for Australian and American television. Col also successfully hosted his own outdoor and fishing television program for four years and has written 10 books on fishing, hunting and wildlife. His book about a true story of a giant rogue crocodile has become a best seller. His business ‘Fishing and Outdoor World’ was hugely successful, leading to improvement in wildlife safari and wildlife photography.

Col pastored in Darwin before being invited to the USA (1979) travelling and speaking. He then pastored a church in California, returning to Australia in 1982. They took over a struggling church that blossomed into the largest church in the state of the Northern Territory. The church, under the Stringer’s leadership, hosted such internationally known ministries as Kenneth Copeland, Dr Jerry Savelle, singer Cliff Richards. Several struggling business people have become multi-millionaires using principles gained from the Stringer’s Bible teachings on goals, dreams, overcoming against the odds etc.

The Stringers are in great demand to speak at churches and conventions in many countries. Col’s unique background of wildlife and humour have won for him the title of “Pastor Crocodile Dundee”. He is the successful author of 10 hunting/fishing and over 20 Christian books, with total sales of 300,000. The thrust of their ministry covers the home/marriage, leadership, renewing the mind, and is available for corporate and sporting clubs.

This honour saw Col listed as the third most popular Australian author.

Col is being used in a powerful way to touch his own nation of Australia, with invitations coming from not only churches but also government officials and schools. He has spoken at The Great Hall in Federal Parliament, Parliament House Brisbane and Parliament House in Sydney. In 2003 Col was nominated (twice) for the honour of Australian Of The Year. The Power of Testimony

There is power in testimony. Testimony stirs up an atmosphere of Faith and Expectancy. The word testimony or to testify, simply means to give evidence, bear witness, be a witness, give one’s testimony, or proof that something exists. The word of God is proof that Christ exists as well as proof of the covenant we have with our Father in Heaven.

God wants to do great exploits for us and through us, however sometimes we become discouraged because of the giants in front of us, the opposition, circumstances or just mere exhaustion, “I can’t go anymore”.

The Bible tells us 3 things we can do and remember to help us defeat our Giants. “And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.”‭‭ Revelation‬ ‭12:11‬ ‭(AMP‬‬)

Firstly, we must remember, that Jesus died and rose again for us. His blood was shed and it’s through that blood that we are redeemed and have entered into relationship with God. It’s through this blood that we are set free and been given back authority here on earth and should walk in dominion. We need to walk in it.

Secondly, we need to remember what God has done for us in the past. Starting with our Salvation through to all the blessings and breakthroughs we have record of. The provision, the job, the business deals, the healings, the restorations in your families, a holiday blessing, whatever God has done, record it and remember it. Remember by doing this it reminds you of God’s faithfulness, it stirs your faith and brings gratitude. It begins to release expectancy and faith.

Thirdly, don’t renounce your faith. In other words don’t turn back, quit, give up or look back. Keep standing, believing and declaring God’s promises and His faithfulness.

Remember, “Failure doesn’t come from falling down, failure comes from not getting up.” – Unknown

David used this exact approach before taking on Goliath. You can read about it in 1 Samuel 16 and 17. When Saul told David you are not able, David reminded him that God helped him with the lion and the bear. Then David says; “Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has taunted and defied the armies of the living God.” David said, “The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”

And Saul said to David, “Go, and may the LORD be with you.” 1 Samuel 17:36-37

David was faced with an obstacle, a giant, he then looked back at God’s faithfulness in the little, (Testimony), he then looked forward and declared (Prophesied) his future. I would encourage you to do the same. May God strengthen you and may the Holy Spirit guide you.

God Bless
