This story is about two buckets that spent their days going continually up and down in a well. As they passed each other the happy bucket would cheerily call out, ‘Good Morning Mr Bucket!’, whilst the other bucket, who was always crying and complaining, would groan, ‘What’s good about it?’ Time and again the friendly bucket would make excited, happy comments only to be met with a disgruntled response from his counterpart.

Eventually, one day the happy bucket sympathetically asked, ‘Tell me little bucket, you always seem so sad and forlorn, why are you so unhappy?’ The response was, ‘I am sick of it! It doesn’t matter how full I come up, I always go down empty. Anyway, what have you got to be so cheerful about?’ ‘Oh, that’s easy,’ replied the happy bucket, ‘You see it doesn’t matter how empty I go down, I always come up full!’

What sort of bucket are you?

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
