Jesus told His disciples that Prayer and Fasting was to be a lifestyle not an event. There is nothing more powerful than fasting. Though it lasts for a short season, it brings long-term effects and blessings. Blessings in all areas of your life.
God wants us in a place of intimacy with Him. That’s the safe place. That’s the powerful place. That’s the place where secret things are revealed. That’s the place where rewards are found. That’s the place of refreshing and strengthening. That’s the place that allows others to see “public fruits through private pursuits.”
“And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes”: Daniel 9:2-3 NKJV
“…. you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly”. Matthew 6:18 NKJV
Fasting will help you tune in to the voice of the Lord. Use hunger/craving for the opportunity to focus on:
a. God and His influence in your life.
b. Developing a spiritual hunger.
c. Areas where you’d like to have change or breakthrough.
Use fasting as a tool to help you make adjustments in every area of life including your priorities of how you spend time and finances.
Fasting this week can assist you in identifying goals for this year, hearing from God for direction for your life as well as to set yourself in agreement with your Pastors for the Church.
HOW TO FAST?
Here are some important points about fasting to get the best results.
a. Fast and Pray. Don’t just abstain from food or whatever it is you are laying aside. Spend extra time with God and His Word. Talk to Him about your life, relationships, and future.
b. Talk to God about what He would challenge you to give up during the fast and don’t expect others to do what you do.
Here are a few options for fasting:
Daniel Fast: Like Daniel who ate no sweets, meats or treats.
Media Fast: There is something so refreshing about turning down the noise around us and tuning into God’s voice.
Full or Partial Bible Fast: Some may choose to do a full fast with no food for a part of each day or for the entire time.
Let God lead you in this. Journal as you fast and seek the Lord in this week. Journal what He is speaking to you through His Word and other avenues.

Thank you for setting yourself in agreement with your Church Family. We are going to to see all God has for us as a Church as well as for yourselves individually.
Remember, “your Heavenly Father who sees in secret will reward you openly”. God will honour you for setting your heart to seek after Him.
During our Prayer and Fasting time, we will gather together at 7pm for around an hour, on Monday 1st March, Tuesday 2nd March & Wednesday 3rd March for prayer in the main church auditorium. If you are unable to make it, we encourage you to set some time aside to pray as a family at home. Also don’t forget to follow our social media platforms, which will remind us each day about the specific items that we are focusing on that day.
